Obituary of Joyce Lillian Stewart
It's with great sadness that the family of Joyce Lillian (McLean) Stewart, wife of Sterling Arnold Stewart, wish to announce her sudden passing on Friday, April 18, 2025 at home in Minto, New Brunswick. Born on March 13, 1943 in Coal Creek, NB, she was the daughter of the late Weldon Clayton and Elsie Agnes (Doherty) McLean.
Besides her loving husband of 63 years, Joyce is survived by her sons, Brock (Diane) Stewart of Peterborough, ON, Nathan (Mikerlange) Stewart of Minto, NB, Kirk (Carmella) Stewart of North View, NB; grandchildren, Mallory, Johnathan, Anthony, Felicity, Theodore, Kassandra, Meagan, Brianna, Brittany and Kylie; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Ella, Liam, Kacela, Natalia, Kymber and Cassidy; sisters, Jean Dewitt and Laura Chatterton-Dewitt; brothers, Raymond McLean, Phillip Chatterton, and Roger Chatterton; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her infant sister, Carolyn McLean and her brother, Ralph McLean.
Joyce was a fun, loving person who was the life of the party, her life was about her infectious love, laughter and care for others, for such a tiny woman she carried a lot of energy. She had a heart for those who were down, struggling through hard times, often giving books and cards of encouragement. Her compassion for others led her to opening the House of Treasures, Bible Book Store where proceeds went to support an orphanage in Thailand.
In 2005 while on vacation in Ontario, she suffered a traumatic brain injury. Husband, Sterling, has stayed by her side being her devoted caregiver for nearly 20 years.
Most of all, Joyce loved her God and family deeply. Sacrificing always to insure all were cared for.
She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Forever in our Hearts
