Obituary of Eddy C. Gallant
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eddy C. Gallant of Minto, NB, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the W. G. Bishop Nursing Home.
Born in Montreal, QC on April 24, 1927. Eddy was the son of the late Theodore and Alice (Gauvin) Gallant. He lived a life full of energy and quiet resilience—often saying, “There’s always something,” a phrase that captured both his wit and his outlook. Running was one of his lifelong passions, a testament to his strength and spirit.
Eddy is lovingly remembered by his children: Mary Ann LeBlanc (Alphonse), Paul Gallant (Linda), Richard Gallant (Brenda), Susan Vanwart (Gerry), Noel Gallant (Jeannie), and Barry Gallant (Tina); his cherished grandchildren: Dawn, Jan, Amanda, Pamela, Christopher, Nolan, Lacey, Matthew, Dean, Amelia, Brett, Emma, Scott, Brianne, and Kelsey; and his many great-grandchildren: Courtney, Natasha, Bodie, Stevie, Conner, Payden, Liam, Julia, Nora, Talan and Charlie; great great grandchild, Ophelia; faithful chosen companion, Ellen Moore; special friend, Norman Gautreau.
He is also survived by his sisters, Viola King and Josephine Scribner; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Eddy was predeceased by his beloved wife, Annie (Stewart) Gallant; his infant son, Theodore; his brother, Norman Gallant; and his son-in-law, Brian Gillies.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of W. G. Bishop Nursing Home for the compassionate care and support given to Eddy.
His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Funeral mass will be held 1:00PM Saturday, August 9, 2025 from Holy Rosary Catholic Church..Reception to follow mass at Minto Senior's Citizen Hall. Interment will take place in Saint Bridget’s Cemetery, Hardwood Ridge, NB for immediate family only. For those who wish, donations made to the Minto Seniors Citizens Club or the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
