It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence P. Wasson “Larry” who
passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 6, 2025 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in
Fredericton NB.
Born in Waterborough, he was the son of the late Rev. George A. and Laura E. (McMann) Wasson.
Larry will be remembered by many for his tenacious spirit and huge heart. Larry served as a
member of The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada from 1961-1963. Later
working several years for NB COAL, also serving as the president of the union briefly before

entire life. He spent many days and years campaigning for upcoming elections. You could
find Larry at Tim Hortons in Minto taking in the local gossip. Larry gave with his entire heart
to help those who needed it. He enjoyed a good argument and could debate with the best of
them. If you were brave enough to challenge his “knowledge” on an issue one better prepare
for a long debate. His love of the bag pipes was as strong as his love for his children.
