Obituary of Marcia Anita Toulman

Marcia Anita Toulman of Minto passed away at the W. G. Bishops Nursing Home on Friday, August 15, 2025, just days before her 75th birthday.

Born in Dalhousie, New Brunswick, Marcia was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Quinn) Roberts.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Patrick John Toulman of 53 years. They met on a blind date & traveled the Maritimes residing in Grand Manan their first year of marriage, followed by Sussex, Riverview, Kensington & finally settling in Minto. Marcia enjoyed pastimes of bowling, crosstitch, & cribbage & daily walks with friend Linda. Marcia spent many years working with the public as a cashier with her work family at IGA & was a long time member of the Catholic Womens League.

Marcia had a quiet Irish strength, was true to herself & was unwavering in her faith. She was kind, with a gentle nature felt by those around her. Marcia was  most comfortable surrounded by her family particularly with her sisters who went on a yearly getaway where the laughs never ended.

Marcia is survived by her daughter, Shannon Toulman (Robert Curran) of Sunnyside Beach, her son, Jeffery Toulman (Melanie Patterson) of Fredericton. Marcia is also survived by her eldest  sisters, Moira MacKay (Larry) of Douglas and Diana Kilfoil (Tim) of Montague; brothers-in-law, Nick Guitard (Belinda) of Fredericton, Richard Calhoun of Hanwell; as well as maternal nieces Erin & Sarah Kate, nephews Danny, Noel, Timothy, Eammon, Liam, and many cherished friends. Marcia was predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Lynn Calhoun and Marlaine Roberts–Guitard & niece Megan.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of W.B. Bishop Nursing Home who provided exemplary care over the last year & showed such compassion during Marcia’s final days. Marcia found a space where she felt safe & was able to come out of her shell with a newfound love of music. Also to the staff of Services to Seniors, in particular to special friend, Shirley, who became a member of our family, who could get Marcia to do anything but most importantly make her laugh.

The family will hold private services. Contributions in Marcia’s memory to the W.G. Bishop Nursing Home & the MEMS Breakfast Program would be greatly appreciated.
