Obituary of Glen Gerald Gilks
The family of Glen Gerald Gilks, husband of Exelda (Williams) Gilks, announce his passing on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Fredericton, NB on February 25, 1933 he was the son of the late Earl Lester and Anna Marie (Larson) Gilks. Glen and Exelda built their home on Brookside Drive in 1970 and have made it home for 55 years, Glen was the owner and operator of Brookside Welding/Aeroquip.
In addition to his loving wife of 70 years, Glen is survived by his sons, David Gilks (Marion) and Steven Gilks (Bobbi); his daughters, Ann-Marie King (Mark) and Karen Jackson (Gilbert); 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Fredi Nason (Butch), Karen Hodgson (Bill), Dawn Scriber (Ron), Earl Gilks, Joyce LeTourneau, Joan Fletcher and Shirley Swan (Leroy); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Glen was predeceased by grandson, Nicholas Goodwin; siblings, Norris Gilks, Pat Fox, Alice Beveridge, Catherine Gilks, and Louise Anderson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hogg Funeral & Cremation Services, 10 King Street, Minto, NB. Family and friends will be invited to a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion: Fredericton Branch No. 4 or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
