Obituary of Ann Jean Barton

It is with great sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Ann Jean Barton (Wasson, Parsons), 30th Dec 2025 with her beloved husband by her side.

Born in Camberley, Surrey, England on 7 Apr 1943, Ann was the firstborn child of the late Eldon and Gladys (Winkworth). She moved to Canada after the war with her mum and was the oldest of her 4 siblings.

She is survived by her husband Carey Barton, 2 children Darrin (Yvette) and Derek (Jeff), 2 grandchildren Dylan (Lacey) and Carly and several great grandchildren including Paisley. She also had many other surrogate children from the neighborhood and from scouting. She is also survived by siblings, Phyllis (Peter), David (Brenda), and June (Eric) and several nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Ann is predeceased by her first husband, Ernest Wasson. And second husband William Hickey.

Ann loved the Lord and the Church, attending virtually when she could no longer walk. Her other great love was youth and her commitment to the Boy Scouts of Canada.

Ann was a great cook and baker as well as craftsperson.

Resting at the United Baptist Church of Minto on Friday, January 2, 2026, visitation from 11:00 -1230 with service at 1:00. Reception after the service. Internment at a later date.

The family will appreciate donations made to the United Baptist Church of Minto or the charity of one’s choice.
