Obituary of Ervine Gardiner Coburn

The death of Ervine Coburn of New Zion, NB occurred on December 31 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, with his family by his side. Born in Minto, New Brunswick on December 25, 1942, he was the beloved son of the late Harry and Beulah Coburn.

Ervine is survived by his loving wife, Bernice Coburn; sister, Shirley Petley; chosen son, Kendall Coburn (Melissa); nephews, Marven (Angel), Michael (Candace) and Trevor (Nikki) Petley; great-nieces, Jessica, Elise, Karlie, Ceanna, Emelia, Emily, and Corey. In addition to his parents, Ervine was predeceased by his brothers, Douglas and Carl Coburn.

Ervine was known as a kind-hearted man who cared deeply for his family. A carpenter by trade. Ervine was proud of his work and was well known for his perfectionism. He took the time and paid attention to detail in both craft and his life.

Above all else, Ervine deeply loved his wife. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his strong work ethic, and the life he built for himself and those he loved.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Christian Community Church, 819 Pleasant Drive, Minto, NB from 11 am to 12 noon with a Funeral Service to immediately follow at 12 noon with Pastor Ron Austin officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
