Iona was predeceased by her mother Sara Thomas, her father Reginald Bryan, brother, Bill Bryan and sister Helen Manders. As well, Iona was predeceased by her 1st infant daughter Beatrice and her loving grandfather William Bryan. Iona was an extremely active 92 year old woman with immeasurable loyalty and commitment to her family and community. For 50 plus years she actively engaged herself in the Girl Guides of Canada in roles as Brown Owl, Tawny Owl, Snowy Owl, nursey and District Commissioner. This amazing woman who never drove a day in her life had beside her always the love of her life to take her to meetings, workshops and camps. In later years her guiding angels supported in drives as well. Iona also belonged to CWL, Holy Rosary Church, Holy Rosary Choir, Relay for Life and volunteered faithfully at the Bishop Nursing Home in Minto. In her spare time at home she enjoyed her family gatherings, she loved outings, concerts, doing puzzles, watching movies and reading which gave her immense pleasure. Iona had many special angel friends in her life and they all left a remarkable imprint of love, devotion and friendship to her which she cherished always. For a lady who never drove she went everywhere her theme song, was “On the Road Again.” The family would like to thank 3E Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful compassion, care and concern they gave to their mom during her final days. You are all angels in our eyes. As well to the management and staff of the North Minto Residence, the treatment given to mom the last 2 months was wonderful. You all treated her with compassion, respect and dignity. Resting at Hogg Funeral Services (10 King Street, Minto) with visiting on Wednesday evening from 5-8pm.
