Obituary of Shirley Arvilla Dufour

The death of Shirley Arvilla Dufour of Minto, NB occurred September 15th, 2017 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Minto, NB she was the daughter of the late Frank and Amber (Austin) Fulton. Shirley worked many years at her family business, Dufour Grocery. She was an avid BINGO player, loved picking berries and spending time in the kitchen. Shirley was the heart of her family and her family was her world. Shirley’s strength was an inspiration to all and her easy - going ways kept her happy to the end. She will be greatly missed. Survived by sons, Myles (Angela) and Peter (Debbie); daughters, Joyce Roy (Phillip) and Gail Vautour (Bennett); grandchildren Bradley, Jody, Melissa, Tara, Jennifer, Ashley and Colby; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Richardson (Marven) and Martha Demmons; brother in law, Arthur Boyne; canine companion, Honda; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband Fred Dufour; stepfather, Clarence Barton; brothers, Roy, Harold and Fred; sisters, Alice Taylor, Vivian Ferris and Verna Boyne. In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, no visitation. A graveside service will take place at a later date from the United Baptist Cemetery, Minto, NB. For those who wish, donations made to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
