Obituary of Nancy Elizabeth Emberley

The family is heart broken to announce the death of Nancy Elizabeth Emberley of Douglas Harbour, that occurred Friday, April 27th, 2018 at Hospice House in Fredericton. Born in Minto, NB she was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (Donahee) Cole. Nan to Gunar and Gauge, she was also known as “the Hockey Nanny” to many more and she wore her jacket proudly. Life on the farm led her to many jobs with a major one being the role of midwife to many many cows. She had a passion for photography, was an avid artist and enjoyed cooking. In addition to her husband of 40 years, Dwight Emberley, Nancy is survived by her sons, Jamie Emberley (Michelle) of Minto and Kyle Emberley (Emily) of Fredericton; her grandsons, Gunar and Gauge; a sister, Susan Veysey (Don) of Davidson Lake; a brother, Tom Cole (Donalda) of Hardwood Ridge; brother-in-law, Neil Emberley (Chris) of Douglas Harbour; sister-in-law, Wendy Sanford (Dan) of Nova Scotia as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Resting at Hogg Funeral and Cremation Services, Minto where the family will receive visitors on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 at the Douglas Harbour Fire Hall. A reception will follow at the community hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House Fredericton, the Douglas Harbour Fire Department or the Douglas Harbour Community Hall. Her smile and her laughter will always be missed and never forgotten.
