Samuel Williams

Obituary of Samuel Hebert Williams

After a 76 year journey Sam has been called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmer’s Hospital. Born in North Forks, NB he was the son of the late Sam and Mary (Knox) Williams. Aside from his love for his wife and family he enjoyed being home in the garden, at the camp, hunting and fishing. He was known for his “small” gardens which he generously shared with everyone. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Sam's family would like to thank Dr. Haynes, Becky the staff of the oncology unit and palliative care unit at the DECH and the Extra Mural Program for their ongoing support and care over the past 21/2 years. Left to mourn with loving memories are his wife Gladys (Wood) Williams, sons, Sam (Laura Lee) of Coal Creek and Stephen (Riesha) of Willow Grove; daughters, Cindy Veenhuis (Richard) of Minto and Susan Thebeau (Jamie) of Upper Salmon Creek; 8 grandchildren, Katelyn, Courtney, Matthew, Jordan, Travis, Jared, Alex and Emily; great granddaughter, Harper; brother, Silas Williams; sisters, Tena Bishop, Avis Williams, Geraldine Fila (John) and Marcia Williams; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his chosen daughter and hunting companion Molly (German short haired pointer). In addition to his parents, Sam was predeceased by a sister, Mary MacDowel. Resting at Hogg Funeral Services (10 King Street, Minto) with visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm Funeral Service will be held 12 noon Wednesday, July 4, 2018 from United Baptist Church of Minto. Interment will take place in the Redbank United Church Cemetery. For those who wish, donations made to the United Baptist Church of Minto would be appreciated by the family.
