Obituary of Marcel Joseph Arsenault

Mark died on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the age of 71, at Hospice House, Fredericton. He was born in Minto, NB son of the late Dominique and Louise Arsenault. Mark will be sadly missed by his loving wife, May (Daigle) his son, David (Bonnie) of Moncton, Step … daughter, Anna-Marie Daamen … Hawkes (Andrew) of Oromocto; granddaughters, Ashley and Jaime Lynn Arsenault of Fredericton. Great grandson, Hudson Grant. Step grandchildren, Natisha McCutcheon of Sussex, Dimintri, Chandler and Morgan Daamen of Minto; Georgia Hawkes of Oromocto; Survived by Ida Devost of Oromocto, Josephine (Alcide Roy) of Moncton, Eva (George Richard) Oshawa, ON, Abel (Twin brother) (Diana) of Noonan, Gerald (Debbie) of Noonan, Stella (George Murray) of Maquapit Lake, Lena (David Storey) of Cobourg, ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sister Aline Geneau (Peter), Alice Richard (Fidele) Mark loved spending time with his wife May and family. Mark drove truck most of his life. He was an avid hunter and loved fishing with his wife May by his side. One of Mark’s proudest accomplishments was his 40 years of sobriety. His fellow AA members were a second family to him. He sponsored and supported many of them over the years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus (Minto). Mark Loved to dance and play the spoons. The family are grateful for the compassionate care from the 4NW, oncology wing of the DECH, as well as Hospice House. Resting at Hogg Funeral Service (10 King Street, Minto with visiting on Wednesday from 4-7pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00AM Thursday, September 27, 2018 from Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will take place in Saint Bridget’s Cemetery, Hardwood Ridge, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark’s memory can be made to Hospice House Fredericton or the Canadian Cancer Society.
