Obituary of Bernard Douglas Barton

The death of Bernard “Bernie” Douglas Barton of Minto, NB occurred Friday, July 24, 2015 at Chalmer’s Regional Hospital. Born in Rothwell, NB he was the son of the late Ervin and Annie Mae (Coffin) Barton. In addition to his loving wife, Geraldine (Levitt) Barton, he is survived by his daughter, Joann Marie Boyd (Jimmy) of Lincoln; step-daughters, Marie Foulkes (Brian), Zelda Polk and step-son, Barry Austin all of Minto; grandchildren, Ashley Tonge (Jamie) and Elise Gauthier; step-grandchildren, Christian Polk, Melissa and Melody Austin, Brian Foulkes (Yvette), Angela Hebert (Dave), Kenneth Foulkes (Tina); many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; Clifford and Darrel both of Ontario; sisters, Bessie Baine of Dartmouth, Sylvia Hachey of Hardwood Ridge and Carol Creamer of Alberta; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bernie was predeceased by his first wife, Elsie Geneau; his daughter, Deborah Anne Gauthier; his grandson, Kyle Boyd; a brother, Harold Barton and sisters, Joan Barton, Helen Madore and Margaret Maillet. Bernie’s wish was to be cremated and funeral service to be kept private. For those who wish, donations made to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
