Marion Galbraith

Obituary of Marion Lucille Galbraith

Heaven gained a beautiful angel on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 with the passing of Marion Lucille Galbraith of Upper Salmon Creek NB at Shannex Thomas Hall, Fredericton, NB. Born in Midlands, NB on March 8, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Violet (Drost) Foss. Marion loved her family and always had unconditional love and support which she showed over the years especially after she was widowed at the age of 43 left to raise her family on her own with six of her eleven children still in school from grades five to twelve. To say she was a hard worker would be an understatement and she installed her work ethic in all of her family. Mom certainly was not a selfish person who wanted for nothing but gave everything to her family and will forever be the glue that holds them together. Her many years of beautiful handiwork will be treasured by her family for years to come and keep her memory alive. Mom was delighted to have a great granddaughter named after her, Maev Marion which she affectionately called "her little M & M". "Nannie Gitterbug" thoroughly loved all her grandchildren and their visits brought her great joy and always put a smile on her face. Survived by sons, Bernard "Jackie" (Anne), Ernie (Doris) and Kevin; daughters, Carol (Burns), Sheila (Van), Wanda (Ernie), Violet (George), Angila (John) and Ivy (Billy) and daughter in law Susan; 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Roger Foss; sister Esther Kostick; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by husband, John Galbraith in 1973; sons, David and Terrance; grandchildren, Daphne and Wesley; daughters in law Brenda and Karen, brothers, Raymond, Ronald, Gordon, Murray, George, Kenneth, Earl and Harold; sister Eileen. In keeping with Mom wishes, there will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service being held 11:00AM June 22, 2019 in Redbank United Church Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the IWK or charity of donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Forever in our hearts; never forgotten.
