After a few days of absorbing the loss or our dear friend of over 30 years, we want to extend our sincere condolences to the family. One thing that was always close to Bette's heart was her family. She was always eager to share the accomplishments of one of her children or great grand-children with photos or an even invitation to join her in the celebrations. It was also apparent in her joy when sharing that Peter and Diane were flying down or that Ron and Marlyn were driving down east to visit. On Saturdays, it was that early coffee date with her son Pat, while in the afternoon it might be a visit to her daughter's to spent time with the girls and guys that meant the world to her. Over the years we have gathered so many memories that will live in our hearts forever. She was a true and cherished friend. Rest in peace Bette.

Peter and family. Although I never met her, from the many stories I heard from Peter about her, I learned she was a strong, witty and brave woman. My deepest sympathies to you all. My thoughts are with you during this tough time.

Pat. Peter and Leah I am so sad to hear of your mother’s passing. I met your mother when she became superintendent of School District 18. Her decisiveness and hard work made her a wonderful leader. Her great sense of humour and friendliness was appreciated by all who worked for her. Take as comfort the fact that she helped countless people throughout her career in education.

So sorry to hear about Bette's death. I will always regret that because of Covid, I didn't get to see her last year. Wanda Elliot and I were all set to visit when Moncton went into lock down, so Wanda got to visit (Wanda doesn't live in Moncton zone), but I didn't. My sympathy to you all.

Peter and family, Sorry for your loss and thinking of all during this difficult time. While staying at our family home during the College years, she fast became one of my favourites and continued through life. Like Old Blue Eyes sang in his song I Did It My Way, and she definitely did. Loved her for that. RIP Bette you deserve it. DAVID K. DUTCHER

Patrick, Peter and Leah, I extend my sincere condolences to all of you and your families. Bette and I were colleagues at Carleton North High School. She was so hard-working, a great guidance counsellor and a loyal friend. We talked just last year and enjoyed reminiscing as well as talking about our children and grandchildren--- she was so proud of all her family. Again, my sympathy to all of you. Sandra McIntosh
