Obituary of Betty J. Mowat

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our dear Mother Betty Jane (Madore) Mowat on December 24, 2022 at the age of 80.

Born on August 13, 1942, in Minto, to Calvin and Irene (Mowatt) Madore. Later in life Calvin remarried Helena (Colwell) Madore.  Helena was who we knew and loved as Grammie.

Betty is survived by her children, Carla (Junior) White - Noonan and Todd Mowat - Minto. Three special grandchildren, Cody (Brea) White - Rusagonis, Austin (Elise) Mowat and Steven Mowat - Minto. Four precious great grandchildren William White, Tucker, Benson and Brooks Mowat.

She was the eldest sibling and will be missed by brothers Ronald (Barbara Ann) – Barrie, Ontario, Jerry (Elaine) - Noonan, and sister Sheila Rust – Ontario, along with step siblings Jackie, Ann Marie and Eugene.

Also left behind are many Mowat in-laws who were a loving part of her family.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her Husband William (Billy) Mowat, Brother James Madore and infant Great-Granddaughter Lennon White.

Mom will be remembered as a dedicated wife, a caring and loving Mother and Grandmother who was giving and kind. After a lengthy hospital stay, Mom was able to return to her earthly home before going to her heavenly home where she is reunited with Dad and other loved ones. This is exactly where she wants to be.

The funeral service will be held at the Christian Community Church in Newcastle Bridge on December 30th at 1:00pm with visitation from 12:30 - 1:00 prior to the service. Interment will take place in the Full Gospel Cemetery, Minto, NB

For those who wish, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, Christian Community Church or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
