Obituary of Alice Louise Kennedy

The death of Alice Louise Kennedy of Maquapit Lake, NB occurred Saturday, June 24th, 2023 at the Oromocto Public Hospital.

Born in Saint John, NB on July 14th, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Jenny (Jones) Rodgerson.

Alice spent many years packing tomatoes at Hunter’s and grading eggs at MacFarland’s. She also cleaned a lot of houses/cottages in the community. Alice loved music and loved to sing.

Survived by sons, David (Sandra) of Douglas Harbour, NB, Gary (Karrye) of Fredericton, NB and Larry (Tory) of Elmwood, PE; daughters, Iris McCoy (Ron) of Clarks Corner, NB, Brenda Colwell (Daniel) of Maquapit Lake, NB, Joan Kennedy of  Gray, ME and Louise Cook (Ken) of Fredericton, NB; good friend and chosen daughter, Debbie Cameron (Glenn); 28 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; sisters, Donna Cyr, Hazel Rodgerson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband, Charles R. Kennedy in 2009; daughter, Barbara Allen; great grandson, Adam Kirk brothers, Douglas, Leonard, and Bruce Rodgerson; half-brother, William Rodgerson; sisters, Edna Rathburn, Shirley Douthwright, Isabel Rodgerson and Laura Beckwith.

Resting at Hogg Funeral & Cremation Services (10 King Street, Minto, NB) with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral Service will take place 2:00PM Thursday, June 29th, 2023 from Scotchtown United Church, Scotchtown, NB. Interment will take place in Scotchtown United Church Cemetery. For those who wish, donations made to the Scotchtown United Church or the Scotchtown Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
