Obituary of Maria Lorette Aline Scott

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Lorette Aline Scott of Minto, New Brunswick, on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB.

Born in Richibucto, NB, Maria was the daughter of the late Albert and Emily (Richard) Maranda.

Loving mother of Ricky Maranda (Yvonne), Lisa White (Gary), and Mike Maranda (Tanya),  special friend to Aubrey Thompson and predeceased by Dwight Meyer. Maria will always be in the hearts of her loving siblings. Predeceased by her brother, Gerald, and survived by Mary, Leona, Leon, Ivan, Ella and Joseph, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Maria will be dearly missed by her 6 grandchildren, Kirkland, Taylor, Michael, Corey, Hillary and Ryan; and 3 great grandchildren, Aubreigh, Amelia and Cedar. She was so proud of all of them, and spoke of them often.

Maria always enjoyed her bingo nights, and her old country music. She loved having her lunches out at the Omega restaurant with her family and friends.

A special heartfelt thank you to Service to Seniors, as well as Extra-Mural. She was beyond grateful for their care and companionship.

In keeping with Maria’s wishes, no visitation or funeral service will be taking place.  As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
