Obituary of Jim Clowater
The passing of James “Jim” Charles Clowater occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on Thursday, October 26th 2023 at the age of 80.
Born on Friday, May 28th, 1943 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Julia (Wilkins) and Mearl Clowater.
Survived by his wife, Dianne (Fawcett) of 57 years; son, Trent of Taipei, Taiwan; daughter, Krista Tupling of Nasonworth; two granddaughters, Jessica and Abigail Tupling; brother, Ronald (Joyce); sisters, Joyce Jeffers and Shirley Buchanan; mother in law, Mardie Fawcett; sisters in law, Susan (Jack) LeBlanc, Kerry Atkinson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was predeceased by his father-in-law, Stan Fawcett, son-in-law, Ronald Tupling; brothers-in-law, Terry Buchanan, Peter Atkinson and nephew, Terry McNeill (late husband of his niece, Carolyn).
As per his wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service for family and close friends able to attend, will take place on Saturday, November 4th at 3:00PM at the New Maryland United Church Cemetery (875 NB-101, Nasonworth, NB E3C 2C1) with Rev. Dr. Kelly Burke officiating.
Jim’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the nurses and doctors in the palliative care unit at the DECH, as well as the extra mural nurses for the excellent care they provided to him.
