Obituary of Barry Edward Austin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Barry Edward Austin of Minto, NB. His passing occurred February 14th, 2020. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of Geraldine (Lovett) Austin and the late Kenneth Austin. Survived by his mother, Geraldine (Lovett) Austin; daughters Melissa Austin (Tom Fawcett) and Melody Austin (Jeff Hart); grandchildren Alyssa Austin, Randy Gallant and Emma Hart; sisters Marie Foulkes (Brian Foulkes) and Zelda Blyth (David Blyth) many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his father, Barry was predeceased by brothers, Kenneth and Phillip. In his younger years, he could be found woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping, swimming and riding his bike with his girls, or drinking a cold Alpine on a hot, sunny summers day. His greatest joy in his later years, other than frequenting Tim Hortons and the Omega, was his family. As a single father, his daughters Melissa and Melody were by far his greatest pride, as were his grandchildren; Alyssa, Randy and Emma. When in their presence he could be seen with a smile that would light up a room. We hope you’re at peace dancing high in the sky, singing with the angels, and telling countless stories to Grampy and Kenny. We would like to extend a sincere “Thank You” to the community of Minto. Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and always offering a chair to our father at your table. We see you and we thank you.
