Dana Yeomans

Obituary of Dana Harlen Yeomans

The death of Dana Harlen Yeomans of Upper Salmon Creek, NB occurred Sunday, September 8th, 2024 at Chalmers Regional Hospital.

Born in Minto, NB he was the son of the late Ralph and Edna (Austin) Yeomans.

He was a hard worker starting when he was 12, working in the woods with his neighbours. When he was 16 he moved to Hamilton and worked mainly at Vallance Brown & Co. He moved back to NB in the spring of '74 with his wife Su-Anne settling in his beloved Salmon Creek in the spring of '75. He worked at NB Coal as a dragline and bulldozer operator until its close.

He loved having family around and spending time with the grandchildren. When he could, he enjoyed bike trips with family and friends. As he became less able to do things, he fell in love with his computer reconnecting with old friends.

Thanks to Dr. Morrissey, Dr. Dolan, Dr. Rivera, Dr. Bedford, and Dr. Sagir. Also to the wonderful nurses at the Queens North Community Health Complex who shared many days and hours laughing and joking while he had his weekly blood transfusions. Especially Cathy, Heather, Shelley, Tracy, Katie, Angela, Rose, Lucy, Courtney, Lacey, and Donita.

Thanks to the many blood donors who took the time to give the gift of life. Without them, he would have gone sooner.

Survived by his loving wife Su-Anne (Shea) Yeomans; sons, David (Gillian), Jason (Amanda) and Bryce; grandchildren Damian, Jazmine, Jayden, Austin Rebekah, and Devon; siblings Debbie Thibodeau (Allan), Rickey Yeomans (Donna), and Judy Elliott (Benson); brother in law Patrick Shea of Hamilton, Ontario; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Resting at Hogg Funeral Home & Cremation Services (10 King Street, Minto) with visitation on Wednesday, September 11 at 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral Service will take place Thursday, September 12 at 11am at the Minto Community Chapel with a reception to follow.

For those who wish, donations made to the Red Cross Blood Unit would be greatly appreciated by the family.
