Obituary of John and Lorna Whalen
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John and Lorna (Largo) Whalen on March 7, 2020.
John W. Whalen was born on November 26, 1934 to John and Aileen Whalen in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
John was educated in Montreal, BA, Philosophy Major and worked as a teacher, social worker and Federal Programs Officer. Throughout his life, he has lived in Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, England, Wales, British Columbia and finally residing in Upper Salmon Creek, New Brunswick.
John is survived by his sons, David in British Columbia and James in England; sisters Janet and Joanne, brothers Terry, and Paul. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Karol and brother Peter.
John married Lorna Largo from the Philippines on January 25, 2008 and they resided for several years in British Columbia before moving to NB.
Lorna was born on September 19, 1954 to Felix and Leoncia Largo in Davao City, Philippines.
She was a wonderful homemaker, enjoying the beauties of nature, flowers and country living.
Lorna is survived by her sisters Lody Largo, Meriam Manto and Perla Reynolds, and one brother, Ernesto Largo. She was predeceased by her parents.
A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, March 16, 2020 at 2 pm at the Ripples United Pentecostal Church, 548 Route 670, Rev. Donald McCarty officiating.
