Obituary of Gerald Anderson Fulton
The death of Gerald Anderson Fulton of Minto, NB occurred Monday, Sept 1st, 2014 at his home in Fredericton.
Born in Minto, NB he was the son of Evlyn (Scott) Fulton of Minto and the late Cameron Fulton.
Gerald was a loving father and husband who enjoyed softball, music, laughter and time with family.Gerald graduated from Minto High School in 1971 and Mount Allison University in 1975, getting married to beloved wife Anna the same year. He worked for many years at NB Power as a chemical technician at the Grand Lake Generating Station and left in 1993 to start his own water treatment business in Minto and Fredericton, The Water Factory. In his early years, Gerald was known for his strong pitching arm. He was inducted into the Minto Sports Wall of Fame with his former team mates, the Minto Miners, who he played with in the 1970s. This year he was inducted into the NB Sports Wall of Fame with his team mates from the Fredericton’s senior league team (the Medjucks and later the Alpines) who he played with in the late 70s and early 80s. Twice he represented the team at the nationals. In spite of his big, imposing frame, Gerald was jovial, always ready for a laugh, and the first to crack a joke or laugh the loudest at someone else’s. Music was a passion, whether listening to the talents of his children or his granddaughter Grace, or playing his favourite songs at full volume on his classic stereo equipment
Survived by his loving wife Anna (Quondam) Fulton; sons, Geoffrey of Fredericton and Christopher (Laura) of Sussex; a daughter, Melissa (Chris) of Fredericton; two grandchildren, Grace and Alexander; brothers, Gary (Beth) of Noonan and Terry (Elaine) of Newcastle Creek; a sister, Gail Richardson (Frank) of New Zion; several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Hogg Funeral Services (10 King Street, Minto) with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be held 1:00PM Friday, September 5th, 2014 from the United Baptist Church of Minto. For those who wish, donations made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
