Obituary of Arthur Smith

Arthur "Buddy" Smith, age 87 of Minto, NB, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday March 2nd at York Manor in Fredericton. Born in Hampton, NB, he was the son of the late Mabel (Parlee) and William Smith. Buddy was predeceased by his beloved wife Janet (Roy), and their infant daughter Donna as well as brothers, George, Carl & Lawrence and sisters Elsie Hartt and Betty Morton. Buddy is survived by sons Norman, Jackie (Maxine), Jerry (Lynn) and Wayne (Jennifer) ; daughters Jean Agnew (Mike) and Donna Hunter (Jim); grandchildren Ronnie, Nicole, Ronna, Karla, Karen, Frederick, Justin, Robert, Corey, Ryan, Melissa, Troy, Mikey, Mackenzie and Michaela as well as several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Victor Roy, sister-in-law, Ramona Smith; brother-by-choice Kerry Boyd and a special nephew William Smith. Buddy will be long remembered for his many contributions to the Village of Minto, his quick wit and catchy sales pitches as owner and operator of "Smith's Used Cars and Towing" in Minto for over 60 years. Visitation will be held from Hogg Funeral Services (10 King Street, Minto, NB) on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral service will take place 11:00AM Friday, March 6, 2015 from Saint Michael and all Angels Anglican Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to SPCA or MEMS Breakfast Program would be appreciated by the family.
