Obituary of Genevieve Marie Legere

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our mother Genevieve Legere at the Oromocto Hospital on March 4, 2015 at 103 years old. Genevieve was the wife of the late Angus Legere of Minto. Born on March 14, 1911 in St. Norbert, Kent County she was the daughter of the late George Richard and Osithe Alain. Genevieve is survived by her children Gerry Legere (Diane) of Bathurst, Mary Anne Legere (Laurie) of Flowers Cove, Grand Lake, Edgar Legere (Mary) of Minto, Leo Legere (Francoise) of Repentigny, Quebec, Lena Gallant (Rheal) of New Maryland, Anita Beauchamp (Andre) of Montreal and Rita MacDonald (Terry) of Fredericton as well as 16 grand-children and 21 great grand-children and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Genevieve was predeceased by a son Emery Legere of Minto and by four brothers, Gerard, Emery, Peter and Mathias (Zeke) Richard and an infant sister Maria. There will be no visitation. A mass celebrating moms life will take place at the Holy Rosary Church in Minto on 12:00 noon Saturday, March 7, 2015. Internment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to Youth in Transition or the Heart & Stroke Foundation. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of the North Minto Seniors Residence and the Oromocto Palliative Care for the excellent care given to mom. Reception will follow in parish hall. Née à St. Norbert, elle était la fille de feu George Richard et de feu Osithe Alain. Elle laisse dans le deuille ses enfants: Gerry Légère (Diane) de Bathurst, Mary Anne Légère (Laurie) de Minto, Edgar Légère (Mary) de Minto, Leo Légère (Françoise) de Repentigny, Québec, Lena Gallant (Rheal) de New Maryland, Anita Beauchamp (André) de Montréal et Rita MacDonald (Terry) de Fredericton, ainsi que 16 petits-enfants et 21 arrière petits-enfants. Mme Légère est prédécédée de ses parents, son cher garçon Emery Légère de Minto et ses quatres frères, Gerard, Emery, Pierre et Mathias (Zeke) Richard, et sa petite sœur Maria. La célébration de sa vie aura lieu samedi, le 7 Mars, à 12 heures (midi) à l’Eglise Saint Rosaire (Holy Rosary) à Minto. Une réception suivra à la salle paroissiale. La famille tient à remercier sincèrement le personnel de la North Minto Seniors Residence ainsi que ceux des soins paliatifs de l'Hôpital d'Oromocto.
