Helen Babineau

Obituary of Helen Marie Babineau

The death of Helen Marie Babineau of New Zion, NB occurred Friday, April 22, 2016 at her home. Helen, or Bun, as she was known to many people who loved her, was a great cook, especially her homemade bread and doughnuts. She loved to play cards and looked forward to her Thursday night outings to the Legion to play crib. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and Friday night dances at the senior's hall until recent years when her breathing problems made these activities too difficult for her. Helen was known for her great story telling. She had a way of making everyone she talked to feel special and could always be counted on for giving words of wisdom to make any problem seem small. She took great pride in her yard and flower gardens and most importantly her family, and taught us all to appreciate nature and the simple things in life. Helen was predeceased by her parents John and Laura ( McDonald ) Murphy, brothers Bob, Ted, Doug and Donnie Murphy, sisters June Coakley and Jean Crawford, Husband James Babineau, special companion Les Parnell and daughter Joanne Coulombe. She is survived by her sons Michael ( Maggie ) Babineau, Jimmy ( Jane ) Babineau, daughter Barby ( Brett ) Barton, son in law Jocelyn Coulombe, grandchildren Jason Babineau, Roger Babineau, Johnathan Bois and Kristen Bois, sister Bea Fox, brother, Jerry Murphy, many nieces and nephews and her 4 legged companions. Honorary pallbearers at the service will be her nieces Diane Dupuis, Linda Murphy, Barby Brown, Margo Murphy, Charlotte Betts and Ava Coakley. Resting at Hogg Funeral Services (10 King Street, Minto) with visiting on Monday evening from 7-9pm. Funeral Service will take place 11:00AM Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from Minto Community Chapel. For those who wish donations made to the Fredericton SPCA would be appreciated by the family. Following the service there will be a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion hosted by the Legion Card Club.
