Update June 5th Coronavirus

Obituary of Update - June 5th Coronavirus

Effective June 5th, provincial guidelines now allow up to 50 to attend a funeral service. We are currently working with families to create meaningful tributes for those who have experienced the recent loss of a loved one. Our operational plan includes some strict procedures for funeral services at Hogg Funeral & Cremation Services. (Minto/Chipman) 1. Funeral services offered at this time are by invite only. Families are required to submit a list of all attendees with phone numbers and contact information. All those attending are required to complete and submit an Active Screening Protocol provided upon entering. The use of an infrared thermometer will be employed. 2. Physical distancing practices (6 meters) are a vital part of this new stage. To ensure that everyone remains safe and that further outbreaks don’t cause tighter restrictions. 3. For the safety of all involved, we insist on the use of a mask at all times when visiting our funeral home. 4. Physical contact … unfortunately, hugs and handshakes - will remain forbidden for now. 5. We do have the ability to provide live streaming of services for those who are unable to attend funerals and visitations in our Chapel. 6. Currently, under provincial guidelines, the serving of and consuming food and beverages in our facility is not permitted. If you have questions about these new provincial guidelines as the province begins to reopen or about funeral services, please contact us. (506) 327-3490. We are monitoring all communications distributed by the NB Department of Health with regard to information on the Coronavirus (Covid-19). As of March 19, 2020 there are new restrictions which must be followed. To ensure risk is minimized, we have put the following emergency plan in place We have also decided to limit public access to our funeral home in keeping with recommended social distancing practices. This decision was made to keep our community as safe as possible during this pandemic. • We are still available 24/7 to serve the needs of our community. • We ask that you call ahead to set up appointments. • We are making environmental cleaning top priority. • If you need assistance, due to the death of a loved one, or urgent matters regarding a loved one please call 327-3490 and we will be there to help. • Our staff will be using safety equipment such as masks, gloves when entering our building. • We encourage the use of our online guestbook for condolence or donations to family. • While we certainly understand the importance of coming here to support family or friends at a time of loss, if you are feeling unwell, having flu-like symptoms, or running a fever, please stay home until you have recovered. We thank everyone for their understanding as we continue to monitor this evolving situation and determine the best way to protect everyone.
