Obituary of Girvan Douglas Fraser

The death of Girvan Douglas Fraser of Chipman, NB occurred Monday, March 14th, 2011 at the Chalmer’s Regional Hospital. Born in Moncton, NB on September 12th, 1927 he was the son of the late Calvin and Margaret (Glenn) Fraser. Girvan had a great love for family and was well known for some of his mechanical inventions. Survived by sons, Ross (Doreen) of Briggs Corner, NB, Ricki (Laurianne) of Minto, NB and John (Gloria) of Kelowna, BC; a daughter, Diane Thompson (Keith) of Ottawa, ON; 6 grandchildren, Timothy, Sherry, Catherine, John, Jeff and Christopher; 2 great grandchildren, Maddie and Liam; brothers, Donald, Hugh and Harold (May) all of Chipman, NB; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Girvan was predeceased by his wife Della Marie (Barton) Fraser in 2003; 2 grandsons, Bradley and Matthew; sisters, Vera, Helen and Roxie; a brother, Vincent. Resting at Hogg Funeral Services (43 Main Street, Chipman, NB) with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held 3:00PM Thursday, March 17th, 2011 from the Chipman United Church with Rev. Betty-Jean Friedman officiating. Interment will take place in the Redbank United Church Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to a local charity would be appreciated by the family.
