Obituary of Major Jamie Allan Thibodeau M. D.
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jamie Allan Thibodeau of Comox, BC on September 2nd, 2013.
Born on March 15th, 1976, Jamie graduated from Chipman High School, University of NB and Memorial University, Nfld., with a Medical Degree under the Medical Officer Training Plan, having enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 2002. He proudly served as Base Surgeon at CFB Wainwright, Alberta, and later deployed to Afghanistan as the Officer in charge of Health Support services within the Kandahar Provincial Reconstruction Team. Upon his return home, he assumed the position of Brigade Surgeon and Officer in Command of Medical Company at CFB Edmonton, Alberta. After a successful year, he was posted to the Air Force and 21CF Health Services, 19 Wing Comox, BC, where he assumed the position of Wing Surgeon.
Jamie is Survived by his wife Kare, his parents Allan and Debbie, sister Alana (Diego), uncles Eloie, Leo, Larry Thibodeau, Dana (Su-Anne), Ricky (Donna)Yeomans, aunts Clara Bailey, Judy (David) Elliott, and numerous cousins. He is predeceased by his grand-parents Ralph and Edna Yeomans, Levi and Lena Thibodeau, uncle Aubrey (Margie) Thibodeau, Helen (wife of Eloie), (Camey wife of Leo), Anne (wife of Larry), Robert (husband of Clara).
Jamie’s Positive attitude and jovial spirit allowed him to take each day by storm and live life to the fullest. He grew up loving outdoor activities and sports and remained an active individual throughout his life. Jamie loved spending his downtime with family and friends and his work time doing what he enjoyed best helping others as a medical Doctor in the military. Jamie’s actions, thoughtfulness and leadership in his work and daily life leaves a legacy never to be forgotten. Jamie will be missed but his spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
A celebration of Jamie’s Life will be held from the Christian Life Center on Saturday, September 28th, 2013 at 2:00PM with Pastor Frank Robichaud officiating.
