Anita, Gerry and families,
My sincere sympathy on the loss of Father Joe. Hope his empty space will be filled with many many wonderful memories. I will share a couple. He was our priest at St. John the Evangelist in Johnville when I was a young girl. We grew up on a farm that had a lovely trout loaded beaver pond. Once we shared that info with him, he often came to the farm in the after school hours to go fishing with my brother Paul and me. We enjoyed his company and his stories quite frequently. Also, after many years of playing hockey with the Flying Fathers Hockey team, he accompanied the team to our school, St. Mary's Academy, in Edmundston in the 1990's. Both he and I enjoyed a mutual warm hug when we met and reminisced there for a few wonderful moments. What a great spiritual guy who left a kind and supportive footprint in the communities in which he served. May God grant him peace.

Bertha, Larry and Family - I recall when we were in the hospital having our daughters, your brother came to visit. Bertha was telling him a story and your brother chuckled and said "oh my heavenly days" - I thought that was so funny! Please accept my sincere sympathy on the loss of your brother.
Sincerely,
Paulette Steever

Dear Family members. Father Joe was a really great guy to work with!
When he was in Nackawic and in Marysville, our CND Sisters truly enjoyed his presence as we ministered together to great people! Father Joe always found time to enjoy life, too. We went to Mactaquac skating on winter evenings; we went for Sunday drives (looking for partridge?) or visiting friends. We had some great social times with friends - we worked hard and laughed much.
We visited him after he retired. I cherish my memories of Father Joe, his prayer and his presence. With gratitude for having known him, I pray for his joyful and restful reward with the angels. Sister Eleanor McCloskey, CND
